Pokerstars recently announced that they have bumped the traditional offers for seats to the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event by guaranteeing a minimum of 1000 players. This means that over $14 million dollars will be spent sending players courtesy of www.PokerStars.com
The satellites and qualifiers are already underway and will continue from now until July 2008 which means you will have more ways to win playing at Pokerstars than any other poker room online. Entry can be made simply be redeeming your frequent player points you have been collecting for months or by entering any one of the daily qualifiers starting as little as $2. In addition to this they have added step qualifiers which are located in the poker rooms sit and go menu.
Each player that wins a seat will receive a sponsorship package worth over $12,000 US which includes;
· An eight night stay at one of Vegas premier resorts the Palms Hotel from July2nd to July 9th.
· All travel expenses will be paid for including flight and your shuttle to and from the Rio daily.
· A $10,000 buy-in to the 2008 WSOP Main Event plus $2,000 in spending money.
In addition to this, if you progress in the tournament past your original stay, www.PokerStars.net will continue to pay for your accommodations until your tournament is complete either through elimination or by winning the event. If your already a player at Pokerstars and have received Supernova or Supernova Elite status through the poker room’s VIP player rewards program and win a seat your hotel suite will be upgraded accordingly.
Excluding the amount of seats available to be won, this is considered a typical WSOP package by most players’ standards, except the poker room has bumped the goodies in store for players. To add some incentive for their players to do well, the company has anteed more cash to the players who survive the first few days in the event.
If any player who qualifies through Pokerstars for the WSOP is able to progress in the tournament where they will be seen on TV wearing the Pokerstars brand, the company will pay you an additional $50,000 whether you make it to final table or not.
